How many teeth do you get with All-on-4?

May 16, 2024

Losing several teeth can make simple tasks like chewing and speaking difficult and can also affect your self-confidence and overall health. But thanks to modern dentistry, there's a solution that can transform your smile: All-on-4 dental implants. But how many teeth do you get with All-on-4 implants?

Initially, you'll require a minimum of four implants. This is why it's called All-on-4.

Unlike removable dentures, All-on-4 implants offer a permanent fix for missing teeth without the need for lengthy procedures. This advanced technique gives you prosthetic teeth that not only look like natural teeth but also feel and function like them.

How many teeth do you get with All-on-4 Dental Implants?

The All-on-4 implant method is capable of replacing an entire set of teeth. Typically, an All-on-4 denture contains fourteen teeth, comprising 4 incisors, 4 premolars, 2 canines, and 4 molars. This innovative implant technique is designed to support a full set of 14 teeth using only 4 dental implants. These implants are made of titanium and are strategically placed to support a fixed dental prosthesis containing anywhere from 10 to 14 teeth.

How do you restore your smile permanently with only four implants?

The All-on-4 procedure includes the following steps:

  1. Initial Assessment: Begin with a thorough dental evaluation to monitor your dental health, including the condition of your remaining teeth and jawbone structure.
  2. Treatment Planning: The dentist plans the All-on-4 treatment after the assessment. This involves deciding the number of teeth you'll receive, typically a full arch of teeth on each jaw.
  3. Implant Placement: Four dental implants are placed in your jawbone during surgery. Despite the minimal number of implants, they are capable of supporting a full set of teeth due to their strategic placement and design.
  4. Temporary Prosthesis: In some cases, a temporary set of teeth is attached immediately after implant placement. This temporary prosthesis allows you to have functional teeth during the initial healing phase.
  5. Healing and Integration: Over time, usually a few months, the implants fuse with your jawbone through osseointegration. This integration is crucial for stability and durability.
  6. Final Prosthesis: Once the implants have completely integrated and your gums have healed, a permanent set of teeth is fixed onto the implants. This final prosthesis is custom-designed to fit your mouth perfectly and mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth.
  7. Follow-up Care: Regular check-ups are scheduled to monitor your oral health, the implants' stability, and the prosthesis's condition.

How are All-on-4 implants different from traditional dental implants?

All on four dental implants differ from traditional dental implants in the following manner:

  1. Eating Experience: All-on-4 implants allow for a normal eating experience without removing dentures for cleaning or bedtime.
  2. No Adhesives: Patients no longer need adhesives to prevent denture movement as All-on-4 implants are permanently attached.
  3. Comfort: Eliminates discomfort of dentures suctioning onto the roof of the mouth, ensuring stability and confidence while eating, speaking, or smiling.
  4. Natural Feel: Provides the comfort and security of teeth that feel and work like your natural teeth without slipping or instability.
  5. Durability: Unlike traditional dentures, all-on-4 implants can last up to a decade or longer without needing replacement or restoration.
  6. Oral Health Benefits: The fixed bridge design reduces gum tissue irritation, maintains natural taste sensations, and minimizes issues with the gag reflex.
  7. Improved Confidence: Patients can chew and bite without worry, leading to enhanced quality of life and confidence in social situations.

What Advantages come with a complete set of teeth from All-on-4 implants?

Having a full set of teeth from All-on-4 implants offers several benefits:

  1. Improved Chewing Ability: All-on-4 implants restore your ability to chew food comfortably, allowing you to enjoy a balanced diet without restrictions.
  2. Enhanced Speech: With a complete set of teeth, speech clarity is improved, helping you articulate words more accurately and confidently.
  3. Natural Appearance: The prosthetic teeth in All-on-4 implants are designed to look natural, enhancing your smile and overall facial aesthetics.
  4. Boosted Confidence: Having a full set of teeth builds your confidence, allowing you to socialize and smile without hesitation.
  5. Durable and Long-lasting: All-on-4 implants are a durable and long-term solution for missing teeth, providing stability and functionality similar to natural teeth.
  6. Preservation of Jawbone: Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss and maintaining facial structure over time.
  7. Comfortable and Convenient: Unlike removable dentures, All-on-4 implants are fixed in place, offering comfort, stability, and ease of maintenance in daily activities like eating and oral hygiene.

Seriously the most kind, caring, thorough dentist I have ever been to. Dr. Wetmore was kind and attentive to my anxiety while at the same time making sure I was comfortable through a long drilling for a crown and very thorough making sure I was numb enough and the bite would be just right. I struggle with self care and this is the first dentist in my life where I wasn't shamed for it. And even though I was scared for the procedure I felt so safe here. Awesome place! The front desk staff, hygienist I saw and assistants were all super skilled and amazing too. Thanks ladies!

Sunflower Dental Spa is for me the FIRST Dental Office that I enjoy going to. I walk in and I am greeted by, 3 Wonderful Ladies with Beautiful Smiles. And even though they know that I can never remember their names, they know mine.
Rachel, my Dental Hygienist, took me back to begin my cleaning... Well at my last cleaning, I misunderstood something that she told me... so this time I asked her to please show me... and she did.
Once Rachel finished, she went and told my Wonderful and Most Excellent Dentist, Dr. Justin Lieneck that it was his turn to come in and check out my teeth. As Justin is checking out my teeth, I asked him, "Do the look okay? You are taking an awfully long time..."
Justin said, "I'm checking each one of them...but I don't see cavities." That isn't exactly what he said, but I can't remember word for word, like I used too.
But if you are looking for a place to go that will take care of your Teeth.... I Highly recommend Sunflower Dental Spa 🌻

It’s hard to put my appreciation into words. Dr. Wetmore and her staff were so helpful and welcoming. They were able to work with my insurance and I to go from consultation to surgery in less than a month, and for half the price I was quoted from Aspen. I was very nervous going into the surgery and amount of extractions I needed but was put at ease with all of the commendations they offered. I highly recommended the laughing gas for anyone that feels the same way. The entire surgery was painless, completely painless and took about two hours. It’s now one day post op and other than some soreness I have never felt better. Sunflower dental deserves all the praise they get in these reviews. Truly an amazing experience. I am so grateful.
