TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.

This machine has electrodes deliver low-frequency stimulation that stimulates nerves. This stimulation, which is administered in a specific sequence, cause the muscles to contract and relax. The stimulation provides a type of electrical massage that helps to work the tension out of the muscles and remove toxins. Alleviating the tension in your muscles allows them to relax, which then helps to alleviate the pain and other symptoms associated with bruxism.
