Technology IN SUNFLOWER DENTAL SPA

Best and Latest Technologies Available!

iTero Element 5D Scanner

iTero Element has introduced the first 3D intraoral scanner with NIRI technology.
The Near-infrared imaging (NIRI) technology allows us to scan the internal structure of our patients’ teeth in real-time. This aids us in detecting and monitoring caries between the teeth during every routine appointment, without using harmful radiation. In addition the 3D capabilities makes it possible to create digital impressions for orthodontic procedures such as Invisalign®, crowns and implant procedures in just a couple of minutes, without the need for messy putties or the discomfort associated with other impression techniques.

The built-in simulator allows us create a simulation of what your teeth may look like in a straighter, corrected position so you can see you how orthodontic treatment can improve your smile, before starting treatment!

Early Detection for Oral Cancer

It is a shocking statistic that one American dies each hour because of oral cancer. This mortality rate has not changed in 40 years! But the upside is that when oral cancer is detected in its early stages, 90% of these patients can be cured.

We have the VELscope™ available for our patients for screening and early detection of this life-threatening problem. It is an FDA-approved specially designed light. Immediately, any unusual tissue can be identified. This is a quick, easy, and painless exam that could save your life!

Rotary Endodontics

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

Rotary Endodontics is the procedure in which a power driven instrument is used for root canal treatments. The use of power driven instruments allows for more accurate cleaning and shaping of your root canal, thus allowing it to be filled easier and with more predictable results. This technology also dramatically reduces post-operative sensitivity, time spent in the dental chair and discomfort compared to conventional endodontic treatment.

DENTALVIBE® PAIN-FREE INJECTIONS

Needle fears keep many people away from the dentist. Postponing dental procedures because of these fears is common, but ultimately results in worsening problems and other serious oral health concerns. 95% of the patients that have experienced the DentalVibe Injection Comfort System say that it has changed their view on going to the dentist.

The DentalVibe applies a light vibration to the tissues around the injection site while anesthesia injections are administered. Research has shown that when vibration and injection sensations are occurring simultaneously, the vibration feeling reaches the brain first and essentially blocks the feeling of the injection from being perceived by the brain. Children and adults no longer have to be afraid of the needle.

Piezo® Ultrasonic Surgical Drill

The Piezosurgery® Drill is a new instrument that can be used for bone surgery in a variety of dental surgical specialties. Using an ultrasonic vibrating tip and water rather than a powerful rotating drill, the Piezosurgery® unit is much safer, less traumatic, causes little to no bleeding, and greatly accelerates healing times.

The dental piezotome is an ultrasonic generator that greatly aids in pre-implants, wisdom teeth extraction, and sinus lift procedures. Instead of using a dental drill that cuts soft tissue and anything in its path, the piezotome is extremely precise and only cuts bone.

SOPROLIFE Camera Caries Detection

The SOPROLIFE camera will allow us to see what was once invisible to the eyes. The auto fluorescence technology allows us the ability to detect tooth decay at different stages of its development thus allowing us to provide the most conservative treatment.

SOPROLIFE allows us to differentiate healthy from infected tissue in order to excavate only the tissue which is diseased.

Dental Microscope

The Seiler dental microscope greatly improves the dentist’s ability to see even the tiniest details inside a patient's tooth. It magnifies vision up to 25 times that of the naked eye and is useful in both diagnosis and treatment.

It is an invaluable tool in endodontic treatment. The root canal procedure takes place in a very small area of the tooth where precise accuracy is necessary to navigate though the intricate roots and canals. Missed canals often mean unresolved infections, which may mean a repeat of the procedure.

K-7 Neuromuscular Tracking Technology

Using this revolutionary science, the dentist delivers low-frequency electrical impulses to the jaw muscles with the TENS K-7 unit. These neuromuscular impulses cause the jaw to relax in its ideal position, so that the cause of your TMJ dysfunction can be diagnosed. If the dentist finds your dysfunction stems from a bad bite, he will recommend a treatment course, which may include further neuromuscular therapy, an orthotic mouthguard, or for severe cases, possibly bite reconstruction.

Magnification Loupes

A Magnification Loupes, a simple, small magnification device used to see small details more closely, allows the dentist to see fine details that would go unnoticed to the naked eye. A better and enlarged view of the treatment site automatically results in more precise dental work. Dentists are better able to see the shapes that they are carving or preparing in the natural teeth as well as in the final restorations which they are providing for their patients. Perhaps even more importantly, dentists are better able to make more accurate and complete diagnoses of what is occurring in each patient’s mouth.

DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Detection

DIAGNOdent is an advanced laser technology that helps us find tooth decay more accurately and reliably in its earliest stages, before it causes more widespread damage. We use it along with visual examination, dental explorers, and x-rays. DIAGNOdent helps us locate decay that’s hidden inside the tooth where visual examination, explorers, and x-rays can’t find it. The DIAGNOdent hand piece scans your teeth with harmless pulses of laser light. When the laser reaches decay under the surface of the tooth, the decay emits a fluorescent light. This fluorescent light bounces back to the sensor, and is translated into an audible signal and a digital readout. In general, the higher the number, the greater the amount of decay in the tooth.

Laser Dentistry

Laser Dentistry offers you the opportunity to have a safe, anxiety free dental experience, without drills and scalpels, and in most cases, without anesthesia. The laser acts as a cutting instrument or a vaporizer of tissue that it comes in contact with in surgical and dental procedures.

Laser Dentistry uses laser energy and a gentle spray of water to perform a wide range of dental procedures – without the heat, vibration and pressure associated with the dental drill. The laser beam sterilizes the affected area and seals off blood vessels, which minimizes the chance of infection or bleeding. Patients are also much more comfortable during and after treatment with laser therapy

Precise SHP Diode Laser

The Precise SHP Diode Laser System perfectly combines state-of-the-art diode laser technology with the operating system of an iPod touch®. It is the first diode laser system with an iPod touch interface to receive FDA clearance for a variety of treatment procedures.

The Precise SHP Diode Laser System can provide soft tissue surgery, reduce pain, and whiten smiles. The perfect pairing of diode laser technology with the intuitive nature of an iPod® touch

Elexxion Diode Laser

The Elexxion Diode Laser System is soft tissue diode laser with pre-programmed functions and ideal for pulp capping, disinfecting periodontal pockets and root canals, disinfecting implants, soft-tissue surgery, bleaching. The laser can be used to cut, coagulate blood vessels, cauterize nerve endings, and sterilize wound edges.

The Elexxion Diode Laser delivery system is through optic fibers of different diameter typically used in contact with tissues, in continuous-wave or pulsed-wave mode. Continuous wave mode is used for surgical procedures and pulsed mode in frenectomy, pulpotomy and periodontal procedures.

Biofilm Management with Airflow

Biofilm Management with Airflow Polishing Hygiene and Cleaning Treatment (by Hu-Friedy) is a hygiene treatment that effectively removes stains on the front and back of teeth. The procedure works by using a fine jet of compressed air, water and fine powder particles to remove staining caused by coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco and some mouthwashes. The treatment is given in the least invasive way, with the highest level of comfort, safety and efficiency.

J5 TENS Machine

TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.

This machine has electrodes deliver low-frequency stimulation that stimulates nerves. This stimulation, which is administered in a specific sequence, cause the muscles to contract and relax. The stimulation provides a type of electrical massage that helps to work the tension out of the muscles and remove toxins. Alleviating the tension in your muscles allows them to relax, which then helps to alleviate the pain and other symptoms associated with bruxism.

Penguin RFA

Successful treatment often depends on the dentist's ability to make an accurate and objective assessment regarding implant placement.

Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) is a simple and noninvasive method of testing implant stability. Penguin RFA provides accurate and objective measurements of implant stability and in turn osseointegration, serving as reliable support when making the decision on whether or not to load the implant. This is especially important when using protocols with shorter treatment time or treating high risk patients. It is fast, easy and predictable to use when checking the stability of a dental implant.

NightLase® Sleep Apnea / Snoring Therapy

Fotona’s NightLase® Therapy is SIMPLE, SAFE & EFFECTIVE. NightLase® is a non-invasive, patient-friendly laser treatment for increasing the quality of a patient’s sleep. NightLase® reduces the effects of sleep apnea and decreases the noise of snoring by means of a gentle, laser-induced tightening effect caused by the contraction of collagen in the oral mucosa tissue. The protocol requires no anesthesia, the results are immediate, and there is no pain or swelling. Research has shown that NightLase® reduces and attenuates snoring and provides an effective, non-invasive way to lessen the effects of sleep apnea.

With shortwave biofluorescent technology, the BioScreen Oral Exam Light from AdDent aids in the identification of potential oral cancers at an early stage when treatment is most successful. This is a quick, easy, and painless exam that could save your life!

The Wand

Our patients routinely comment on how painless and gentle their treatments. This is in no small part due to “The Wand” painless injection system. In most cases the pain associated with injections comes from the flow of the anesthetic into the body, as opposed to the insertion of the needle itself. The Wand is a computer-controlled anesthetic distribution system that is designed to prevent any pain at all. It evenly flows into the system so that only the exact part of the mouth being treated is numbed, and it does it with such accuracy that it is in fact painless.

CariVu™ Caries Detection

CariVu™ caries detection device uses patented transillumination technology that makes enamel appear transparent allowing the dentist to see through the tooth, exposing its structure and the development of any carious lesions. Although images read like familiar X-ray images, CariVu™ uses non-ionizing radiation which is ideal for children, pregnant women and patients who are X‑ray averse.

Formlab 3D Printed Surgical Guides

AcceleDent® Speeds Up Orthodontic Treatment by up to 50%

Traditionally, for a patient being treated with Invisalign, clear or conventional braces, tooth alignment is achieved by exerting a constant pressure on the teeth and thus stimulating bone remodeling, which is the key to changing the position of the teeth. With AcceleDent®, a comfortable electronic mouthpiece device, this remodeling happens at a faster rate, so your teeth also align more quickly. It has also been shown to make the orthodontic experience more comfortable by decreasing tenderness during treatment.

ACCELEDENT-SoftPulse-TechnologyThe mouthpiece is worn for 20 minutes every day during the orthodontic treatment. AcceleDent® delivers to the upper and lower jaws a series of evenly distributed, high-frequency micro pulses (similar to the vibrations felt when using an electric toothbrush). By stimulating the soft tissue and bone, these micro pulses increase the blood supply to the site, which in turn speeds up the remodeling of the jawbone.

Propel System – Invisalign in HALF THE TIME

In our continuous effort to provide the best in orthodontic treatment for our patients, we are proud to offer PROPEL®, an advanced orthodontic technique that works with your aligners to fast track your orthodontic treatment. This exciting technology allows us to get most patients finished in about half the usual time. While each patient varies, many patients can now have their orthodontic treatment completed in just months instead of years! PROPEL® works with the your own biology to stimulate the bone surrounding your teeth; helping the teeth to move faster and more predictably into their ideal position so we can reveal your new smile faster and in fewer visits to our office.

Comfort Control™ Syringe PAIN-FREE INJECTIONS

Needle fears keep many people away from the dentist. Postponing dental procedures because of these fears is common, but ultimately results in worsening problems and other serious oral health concerns. The Comfort Control Syringe is a pain free alternative to traditional anesthetic needles and syringes. It lets us administer injections with little or no discomfort to our patients, since the flow and volume of anesthetic are delivered slowly, below the pain threshold. The system even places a drop of anesthetic at the site of injection, prior to needle insertion, preparing an anesthetic pathway.

This electronic pre-programmed anesthetic delivery device uses a two-stage delivery rate. The injection begins at an extremely slow rate to counter the initial pain usually associated with an injection. A digital panel displays the rate, elapsed time and amount of anesthetic delivered.

OrthoPulse® Speeds Up Orthodontic Treatment

OrthoPulse® is the first device of its kind cleared by the US FDA for use with both braces or clear aligners. It is an established device that uses low intensity near infra-red light technology to stimulate the bone surrounding the roots of your teeth and gently facilitate orthodontic tooth movement which may reduce orthodontic treatment time.

Ozone Therapy

Dental Ozone is the Latest in Non-Invasive Dentistry

Ozone is an enriched form of oxygen, which can destroy bacteria and viruses while strengthening your immune system to continue fighting these disease-causing agents. Ozone Therapy is safe and effective in the reduction of bacteria from tooth surfaces or around the gum line.

It is significantly better and more effective than chlorine based disinfectants and has the beauty of breakdown into oxygen instead of caustic or harmful substances.

LightScalpel CO2 Laser

The LightScalpel CO2 laser is a device that produces a concentrated beam of light. The highly focused CO2 laser beam vaporizes, cleanly and precisely, while sealing blood vessels at the same time. Years of experience in medicine and oral surgery went into the design of the LightScalpel laser, which was made to provide superior care for patients.

Traditional surgery with a scalpel or scissors can bruise or crush tissue. When we use the LightScalpel CO2 laser, only an intense beam of laser light interacts with the tissue. There is no mechanical trauma to the tissue and the coagulation zone is very narrow (as little as 50 microns – almost the width of a human hair).

The CO2 laser has the unique ability to vaporize or ‘erase’ tissue. The CO2 laser can be used to make incisions, as well as to remove unhealthy tissue. Our laser is so precise that it can selectively remove only a few cells at a time if needed. At the same time, it is powerful enough to de-bulk the largest of tumors.

Tekscan Digital Bite Sensor

Tekscan or T-Scan is a valuable tool that aids in diagnosing problems with a person's bite. When a bite is unstable it can cause pain, broken restorations, gum disease, tooth loss, headaches, and TMJ disorder. The T-Scan device uses a very thin digital sensor that the patient bites into. T-Scan can identify both force and timing, two of the most fundamental parameters for measuring occlusion.

This eliminates the repeat visit after sending the impression off to a lab, as this is now able to be done while you are in the chair!

Low Dose Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays (Radiographs) are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. Digital Radiography is a type of X-ray imaging that uses digital X-ray sensors to replace traditional photographic X-ray film, producing enhanced computer images of teeth, gums, and other oral structures and conditions. This allows the doctors to get a much better view of your teeth and any potential dental conditions. The digital imaging software obtains a number of different views of your teeth to gain the best understanding of your situation and develop the most appropriate course of management.

Digital sensors are more responsive than film so that much less radiation is required to produce a digital image.

The Panorex X-ray also exposes parts of your jaw that can’t be seen with traditional dental X-rays.

Computer Guided Implant Surgery

We use state-of-the-art technology including Computer Guided Implant Surgery to ensure the optimum results in patient care.

In the past radiographic images used to place implants were two dimensional providing a reasonable estimate of bone height. Often bone width was not determined until the bone was exposed during surgery sometimes resulting in compromised placement of the implant.

Computer Guided Implant Surgery gives very detailed 3-D visualizations and coupled with the appropriate software allows us to place implants with a level of precision that was unattainable several years ago. In addition, the surgical procedures can often be accomplished in a much more conservative procedure which involves greatly reduced discomfort, less treatment time and a more accurate final outcome.

Computer Guided Implant placement is the safest and most precise way to place dental implants.

The Vatech Green CT2 3D CBCT imaging system can be used for an array of applications, including: endodontics, implantology, surgery, fracture and orthodontics and TMJ assessment. The 3D images accurately show the patient’s anatomy, evaluates bone volume and quality. Extraordinary details are obtained at low exposure levels - LOW DOSE AND HIGH IMAGE QUALITY. A typical scan takes only 20 seconds.

The patient benefits from less radiation as well as the comfortable, open environment. Additionally, the doctor can share a visual diagnosis with patients, making them more comfortable with their treatment plan and actively participate in their care.
